Law Club

Law Club is part of the Model Judiciary Program which gives high school students an opportunity to practice court room skills and argue a case in front of a judge. Teams at high schools around the County are given a case to prepare and will participate in a mock trial against each other. Students fill the roles of lawyers and witnesses in each case.

Hear from students in Law Club!
"Last year was URHS first shot at law club and it went incredibly well! It was rocky at first, but as everyone was getting accustomed to reviewing and practicing the case, it became such a delight! During meetings we got to meet new people (including a great lawyer) that shared our interests in crime and law. Come the trial date, our defense team won their case despite it being a first for our school. Overall, if you’re willing to take the time after school to look over a case and hold mini seminars, as well as like the opportunity to meet interesting people, Model Judiciary Club (Law Club for short) should definitely be a consideration!!" -Fernanda Solis

How can you stay involved during the pandemic?

Law Club plans to have weekly Zoom meetings after school (during office hours). We are waiting for more information on how this year's trial will be conducted. We will let you know which day we decide on.
